Congrats to Davina for taking first at Canada’s Great Kitchen Party!
Davina Moraiko, our Chef de Cuisine took home 1st place at the regional round of Canada’s Great Kitchen Party in October. Here’s a little bit from the Edmonton Journal’s article:
Moraiko wowed judges with a pork blood sausage studded with barley bits and lardo fermented cabbage nestled in a creamy puddle of cider hollandaise. The dish was true to Moraiko’s roots at RGE RD, which prides itself on nose-to-tail cooking using local products.
We’re so proud of Davina, and we can’t wait to see what she does at the national competition in February. Way to go!

A Dinner in Support of a Great Cause
In October we’re hosting a private dinner as part of the Restaurants for Change initiative in support of Canadian Food Centres Canada. On October 17, we’re joining 75+ restaurants across Canada to host dinners that fundraise support community food programs. This year we are helping fundraise for a new community food centre in Edmonton – which is a really exciting project.

Join us as June 3rd as we host a dinner collaboration with Aman Dosanj: the former Poppadoms co-owner, Western Living Magazine ‘Foodie of the Year’ 2015. Recently The Paisley Notebook was a top 3 finalist in the ‘Remarkable Experience’ category at the BC Tourism Industry Conference Awards 2018.
More about the Paisley Notebook
Born and raised in Southampton, England, Aman Dosanj jumped over the pond in 2008. The former England U-16 and Arsenal Ladies soccer player opened Kelowna’s ‘Poppadoms’ in 2009. The vibrant farm-to-table Indian restaurant found synergy with the Okanagan – combining true-to-its-roots Indian flavours with the purity of the Okanagan’s terroir. Known for her tireless curiosity, endless experiments and collaborations with chef-mentors across the Valley, the self-taught cook was named Western Living Magazine’s top 10 ‘Foodie of the Year’ 2015. The edible storyteller has returned from an 8-month around the world adventure showing how food connects us, and has been sharing those stories during pop up dinners across the Okanagan and now in Edmonton!
